Weekend at the lake

The House
This past weekend we went to a friend's lake house in the beautiful Smokey Mountains. Their parent's lake house sits high up on the side of a mountain at the edge of Fontana Lake. The water level had dropped dramatically and you will notice the ladder that we had to climb down to make it to the dock. Ladder wasn't so bad for us but Number 1 and 2 were lifted down and then actually climbed up with their Daddy behind them. It was a good time to catch up with friends we haven't seen in a while.

Number 2 is ready to go to the lake!

And this is what we found...This is the ladder that we had to climb down to get to this...

Number 2 and Daddy enjoying the boat

Number 1 took a nap on our first boating adventure of the weekend.

Me and my swimming girls.

Fun on the jet ski

Look everyone, it is a frog!!!

Number 2 has a little firefighter in her blood...check out how she scaled the ladder. Number 1 took a turn too.

Thanks for the wonderful weekend Sarah and Chris!

Lots has been happening

Life is back to its fast past world once again. We have been super busy. School has started back and now I have partner to take with me. Number 1 had started pre-K. Number 2 has had a birthday as well. I graduated with my master's a few weeks back and have enjoyed being able to come home and not have to go back out to school. I say all of this to say, sorry. I haven't been updating my blog very much. There are even a few things that have happend that I don't have pictures of. Number 1 got to say "play ball" at the ball park and as I was typing up the post I couldn't find the CD that my mom made of the pictures (ummm...can I get another one?). I also don't have pictures of me graduating. Mother and Mother-in law have those. If you are really curious you can jump to Mother-in law's blog and see pics of me in the old cap and gown. Anyway...I have updated with numerous posts so be sure to scroll down and catch a peek of what we have been up to.

A night out bowling

Number 2 pushing the ball down the ramp.

Getting ready to make her move...

And the ball is off!

She's so strong she can carry the ball herself.

This past weekend I had the chance to hang out with some friends while hubby was at work. My friends are great and love my kids as much as I do. We went bowling and out to dinner. The girls loved bowling!

Number 2 turns 2!

August 12, 2006

Okay well she looks like a giant baby, but really she is only 1 (her first birthday party)

Second birthday party!

On August 12 we got to celebrate another birthday...Number 2 turned 2. She unfortunatly did not have the greatest birthday ever. She had to go to the doctor that morning and was treated to a shot. Then she had to go have blood drawn to check lead levels and such. It took two people and quite a few sticks to manage to get a vain and blood. Bless her heart she has inherited mine and her Paw Paw's vains. Enjoy a few pictures and a look back and crazy little life!

Numer 2's first visit to visit her Dee

We were fortunate enough for both Gradmother W. and my grandfather to get to meet Number 2 before they had to leave us.

Number 2 and her Papa. She has always had him right where she wanted him. This is one of my favorite pictures.

Still a mama's girl (well, sometimes)

Fishing rodeo

Hubby getting into the action

Today was the kick off of this year's Sunday School program. Each year we have a fishing rodeo at one of our member's houses. They live in a BEAUTIFUL very large home not to far from us. The girls enjoyed playing. Number 1 actually caught a fish. Number 1 also took off on the "Gator" 4-wheeler with some of the bigger kids. I sat back and wondered when she became one of them. Number 2 chilled out and hung around. We had a hot dog dinner and then enjoyed some prizes. After dinner we were one of the few families left and we were treated to a tour of the families home. AMAZING does not begin to describe it. What is weird is that when I was a little some close friends of ours lived in the house that was once on the same spot. It was a small brick ranch house. The house that now stands there can definatly not be described as small. It was neat to kind of return to my "roots." I have many fond memories of that plot of land. Today I got to make some more. We have a really wonderful church family and we always have a great time when we get to spend time with them.

Picking out just the right bait...

And it worked!! Number 1 caught a fish..."Now what do I do with it Dad?"

Number 2 had her fishing pole and was very intent on catching a fish...maybe we should have given her some bait and a hook...

A look at a few of the other fisherman

Playing at the park

One night recently we went out to dinner. The air temperature was perfect and the girls still had lots of energy so we decided to go to one of our local parks. They have a great playground with lots of equipment for all ages. The girls had a great time and played for an hour or so. Baths were definatly given before bed that night!!

First Day of Pre-K

Recently (August 1 to be exact) number 1 started school. She is in pre-k this year and is loving every minute of it. She loves being the helper for the day (especially door holder). She has learned about circles and squares, red and blue. She has also learned several new songs. If you catch her on a good day she might sing one for you. The one thing she tends not to remember is what she had for lunch. Most days she seems to enjoy the dish "I don't know." It must be tasty because that's what she tells us she has to eat every day. As you can see she is quite happy to be there. It is weird having her in the building with me. Because I am in another section of the school I don't ever see her.
