Playing at the park

This week the in-laws have been in town with their camping group. We met them for dinner along with my parents at a small diner last night. Afterwards my parents and I took the girls to the local downtown park to feed the ducks what bread we had leftover. The girls ended up wadding in the creek for quite a while. Unfortunatly I wasn't very prepared for this and they ended up soaked and dirty, but very happy. When Number 1 went to go feed the ducks Number 2 refused to move and sat herself firmly on the step. My mom stayed with her while we walked a few feet over to the pond to feed the ducks and fish. The water in this creek is spring fed and EXTREMELY cold. The girls definatly didn't care. They had a blast. Althought the adults might have had more fun just watching them. And yes, 99% of the mud came out. The blue shirt Number 2 has on might be a goner but that's okay it has already survived one child and is almost too small.
Getting in the COLD water
Not sure what this face means, but it is cute.

A happy girl.

Look mom my hair is wet.

Feeding the ducks.

Paw Paw got into the action too.

Getting ready to start school!

Well it is here. Next Friday, August 1, Number 1 starts pre-k. I really didn't think it would bother me, her starting school and all, but I must say I am a bit nervous. Her little innocent world is about to be opened up to some harsh realities. Of course she has no clue and is beyond excited. She will be coming to school with me so I will be in the same building. This could either be good or bad. I haven't decided yet. I am pretty sure it will be good. We have been doing lots to get her ready. She got a backpack for her birthday along with a new wardrobe of "school" clothes. New shoes were also a must(they can not wear flip flops, clogs, or sandals...if you know my family you know that my children LIVE in their clogs). We have had our four year old check up and given our required shots (5 of them!!!!). We also went to the dentist. This picture is her in the car getting ready to go. She did amazingly well at the dentist and giggled her way through the tooth brushing. She came home and told sister that when it was her turn to go to the dentist she didn't need to be scared. The count down to school has begun!

Birthday Party

The Birthday Girls

We had the girls birthday party the other weekend. It is hard to believe we are celebrating them being 4 and 2. We partied hard at an inflatables place and a good time was had by all. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it. We certainly enjoyed seeing everyone. Toys are still in the process of finding a resting place. Thanks to everyone for their generosity. It is always great to see how many people love our girls as much as we do. If you were not there you were definatly missed and thought about.

Bouncing with Daddy.

The absolutly fantastic Thomas cake. Can you believe how wonderful it turned out. The yellow engine's name is Molly. It also had Thomas and Percy. Number 1 ate Molly's head during the party. Fitting don't you think!

Getting ready to go down the BIG slide.

Natalie, Number 2, and a friend

Let us out!!!

My friend's little boy was smitten with Number 2. He kept leaning over and just looking at her.

Party time!

Movie Nights

The last couple of nights we have been snuggling up in our bed with the girls and watching some of our new Disney movies. The other night was Peter Pan and tonight is Little Mermaid. I wish I could say they laid their quietly the whole time but it usually ends up with them wrestling around on the bed and jumping on me and their Daddy. I suppose in the future though it will be the wrestling and the jumping that they will remember, not the actual movie that was playing. I love having time in the summer to spend with my girls. Too soon it will be back to work....but this time I get to take number 1 with me. I can only imagine what adventures that will bring about!!!

Good Golly Miss Molly...We have a four year old!!!

Her real 1st birthday

Turning 2

Turning 3

Well, Number 1 is officially a four year old as of today! Can you believe it! I know that I can't. She isn't having her party for a couple of weeks but she got to spend the day at home by herself with Mommy and Daddy while sister went to the babysitters house. She got to decide what we did today. First things first, a special breakfast from McDonalds. Next, a trip to Chilis for lunch and then on to the movies to see WALL-E. We had side trip at the toystore to kill time. She ended up picking out a Hannah Montana microphone that she can sing into and hear herself on her radio. She enjoys singing alot. Nanna joined us for lunch and the movie. We all had a great time. She ended the day by picking what she wanted for dinner...macaronni and cheese with chocolate ice cream for desert. Today hasn't been the healthiest. She got coke at lunch and with her popcorn at the movies. I guess one day a year won't matter too much! Hopefuly in few weeks Number 2 will get to enjoy a fun day with her daddy. Number 1 and I will be back in school by then.

Sound isn't the best, but you can hear her a little. The loud humming is the stereo. She didn't want to look at me so I had to keep reminding her to. Her Daddy joins in the singing too :)

A Firefighter Party

A couple of Saturday's ago we went over to one of the other firefighter's houses and spent the day relaxing both in and out of the pool. As you can see we had a great time. Please excuse the attire of the one gentleman. That would be the Captain of the company. He decided to ride his motorcycle (as did the rest of the guys). This meant he needed his boots on....most just wore pants and then changed at the party....not so for Captain. Number 1 and Number 2 had a great time as well. The firefighters all have Harley Davidson's now and claim that this was the first official meeting of the Iron Prostate Motorcycle Gang. Boys and their toys...
